” . . . by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.”
Margery Williams, The Velveteen Rabbit
Hello, I’m Maria. I used to teach but now I paint. Though not a trained artist like so many in my family, I have a desire to play with paint, especially on vintage furniture that my husband and I salvage. Often in need of repairs, I strive to bring treasures back to life, with a colorful twist. Turns out more than 9,000,000 pieces (over 12 million tons!) of furniture make it to U.S. landfills each year. I love that we can rescue quality pieces– and not contribute to a staggering problem. Using the best non-toxic products and luxury added details makes my heart do a happy dance. Come visit our little studio shop in the West Cottage of Milford’s historic Waterwheel Mill shops and restaurant.
